When Healing Doesn’t Come

(pouring this straight out of my heart, friend)

He says, “I will never leave you or forsake you,” and sometimes this has to be enough.

There are days I write down what I’m thankful for, counting gifts, trying to see the right-side-up way of things – but the shadow hangs there yet.

Loss and longing and missing, and what I’m missing I don’t know.

So I take the Lord’s words, that He’ll never go missing, and let them sink into my soul. And I send them out to a hurting friend, praying that she might be healed.

In Him, only Him, am I whole and complete.
